You can see here in this enlarged detail close up the way a loose frisky brush was used to suggest the excitement and buzz generating from the canal side cafe.
Amsterdam Canal Cafe
Amsterdam is one of my favourite cities, especially the Canal District. The best way to soak up the atmosphere, I have found, is to hire a bike and just get lost. You will find yourself making frequent stops (too frequent probably) at the attractive canalside cafes and bars, such as this one. On this digital painting, my aim was to capture the atmosphere and buzz from the young cafe crowd sat alongside a typical canal bridge.
